Word
Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:17-19
Daily Devotional
In the Gospel of Luke, Luke recounts the testimony of ten lepers who were healed by Jesus. Though all ten received healing, only one returned to thank Him, giving Him praise. Scripture also tells us that our thanksgiving to God is an act of sacrifice that He remembers (Acts 10:4).
When we worship, taking intentional time to thank God lays the foundation for a grateful heart. It renews our minds as we remember all He has done and makes way for true adoration in worship.
Scriptures for Today
As you read today's Scriptures, read slowly and attentively, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you meditate on His Word.
Luke 17:11-19
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
Worship

Prayer
Lord, I thank you for Your mercy, grace and healing in my life. I take time today to intentionally thank You. Would You bring to mind specific ways I can thank You and would You help me carry gratitude with me throughout my day? Lord, use thankfulness to create in me a pure heart as I come to You in worship.
Listen & Obey
Spend two minutes in silent, listening prayer. Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you. Here are some prompts to assist you:
- Lord, what do You want to speak to me from these passages of Scripture as I start my day?
- How do You want me to apply this truth today?
- Who do I need to share this with today?
